These stones resemble the shapes and tools of early humanity, floating or suspended, so that they may convey a timeless aspect of mysterious function. Their forms are inspired from Egyptian, European, and Chinese prehistory. Like the black rectangular mass that reappears through the ages in Kubrick’s Space Odyssey, they raise questions regarding presence, origin, and the frontier between function and sacred.
